5 Characteristics of an IDEAL Man

There are a lot of books and blogs nowadays about "how to find the right man" or "what are the qualities of a good man" that you should marry." I even watched videos from different social media sites and most of them are based in worldly standards. Yes, you can still find good men these days but if you have higher standards than in secular world, this article is for you. There is more to a God-fearing man than just a good man. That two has a big difference. However, we all know that no man is perfect, every one of us can commit sin but let me show you the real focus of this blog and forget about your past relationships or the person who broke your heart.
1. The first characteristic of an ideal man is that HE IS ALWAYS IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD, HIS CREATOR.
According to the book of Genesis 2:15, the Lord God took Adam and put him in the garden of Eden. It wasn't just an ordinary garden, it is a place where the presence of God was. When Adam and Eve committed sin against God by disobeying Him through eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, He cursed them and He sent them away out from Eden and the presence of God was no longer with them. That is why scientists and archeologists never found it and its origin until now because the garden of Eden is an example of an "atmosphere". Therefore, the first thing that a man needs is the presence of God, not woman or any other else. A man who loves to be in His presence is the best man to be with. He can do great things because the glory of God is upon him. Sadly, most men nowadays love to hangout in bars, or clubs rather than in prayer gatherings and bible fellowships or even just spend time alone with Him.
2. Another characteristic of an ideal man is that HE IS RESPONSIBLE AND NOT LAZY.
Let's go back to Genesis 2:15, God gave the man, who is Adam a work. It is the first thing that God gave to him. The man's purpose was to lead and take care of everything that God created. An ideal man should be like that, he doesn't complain about his purpose and he loves to work instead of just sitting there beside a very fruitful tree or lying on green grasses during the day. Therefore, a man has job before he gets a woman. Whatever job he has, whether it's in secular or ministerial, it doesn't matter. God still rewards every person's labor and hard work. For a man is the main provider of the family, he should have the resources they need to live harmoniously as the scripture says, "a person who does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever" according to 1 Timothy 5:8.
3. An ideal man is a MOTIVATOR.
There are a lot of things happening in Genesis 2:15 alone that makes you realize how wonderful God created man for His purpose. Man was chosen to cultivate every living things that surrounded him. When we say cultivate, it means to take care of something, make it grow, make it mature and make it beautiful. When we look at it in a physical or humanly aspect, an ideal man should keep her woman beautiful inside and out. Though we know that a woman knows how to take care of herself but when she feels appreciated, feels secured and feels being loved by her man, it adds beauty to her well being.
If someone or your man is concerned about what you eat, how many hours you work, how late you go to sleep, how often you color your hair, how often you wear makeup, or how many days you skip your exercise, please, don't bother nagging him. He's just motivating you to be a better you. And when he is always there to support you in every good things you do and understand your weaknesses, then he has this characteristic of an ideal man. Even Jesus commanded the husbands to love their wives just as He loved the church and gave Himself for her according to Ephesians 5:25.
4. An ideal man is PHYSICALLY HEALTHY.
Since God created man to take care of His creations, He designed him to have a stronger bone and muscle frame to fulfill his work physically. Of course, every thing in the garden of Eden needs physical attention: cultivating, monitoring, tending a group of animals and other physical works. God also designed him to be stronger than the woman to PROTECT her, NOT TO ABUSE her.
5. An ideal man is WISE.
It's good to have an intelligent man around but it's better to have a wise one. There's nothing wrong with being intelligent but intelligence itself is limited. It's part of being human and no man is perfect. However, there is a wisdom which can only be found in God and through His words. It is pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy according to James 3:17. In Genesis 2:16-17, God gave the man His word, an instruction to teach the woman to eat any fruit of the trees in the garden EXCEPT for the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Therefore, a man should be full of wisdom to lead his woman or family in righteous, and holy living which is acceptable to God. Can you imagine yourself living with a troublesome or a cheating man or husband? I will leave this to you with a big question mark.
Now in Genesis 2:18, God said that it is not good for a man to be alone. So He made him a helper who is comparable to him. That is the time when He made the woman out of the man's rib. But what God is referring to is a man who is in His presence, responsible, can cultivate you, can protect you, and can teach you the word. So here's the problem, if you meet a man who don't like God's presence, not working and lazy, can't cultivate you and improve you, can't protect you and he doesn't know God's word, it is good for that man to be alone.
